Merry Christmas

Here is to all people. The Lights Jerky loves all humanity! Regardless of faith or season!  Therefore, this season inspires me,  as always to remember that we must view all as warm hearted spirits with the  innocence of kindness and the motives of love.  I wish you all the best in the New Year and the in everything that you do.  Always seek truth and always decide with love in mind, cause we are all the same.  In the words of Don Miguel Ruiz -You are alive because of the power of God, which is the power of Life.”   That my friends is non-denominational, which is the vision of love…

Peace, Truth and Love.

Dissonance – The Ego’s Code

The human mind has come under attack since we have been able to think rationally.  However, the rationality of the human mind is a subjective definition in this day and age. When Darwin introduced the concept of “survival of the fittest” nearly 100 years ago many individuals could not buy into it.  The concept was later used to describe social and economic phenomena.   The concept of “survival” seems to borrow momentum for setting into motion the optimal illusion of dissonance which is competing for advancement in one way or another without being true to yourself.

The pseudo self or EGO is the component of thought that thrives in dissonance.  Whether it is a moral, cognitive, spiritual or emotional dissonance, rest assured the ego is desperate to survive in a world clouded by the imbalance.  Dissonance infects impeccability on various levels and hopes to take it hostage.  It holds all things good hostage as it feels that survival is not possible with merely love and authenticity.

From this, the struggle is seen in the balancing act that ensues between the real self, social self and the pseudo self.  This in turn causes more stress than any other concept that afflicts our cognitions.  And it is all man-made and almost always an internal dilemma based in a belief that the true essence of love, kindness, peace and ultimate authenticity is not enough to survive.

Athletes, politicians, “spiritual leaders”, news agencies, countries and even health “gurus”, are guilty of selling this type of “mental terrorism” on a daily basis.  The question is “survive from what?”  We have been led to believe that we must keep pace with the material world, the world of drama and the world of luxuria, which is the EGO’s paradise.

Free yourself from the dissonance by mere awareness and commitment to examine each thought as truth or falsehood.  This must be done with no motive to gain anything but PEACE.  Be true to yourself and love all things, as there is “endurance” in this if you are patient with the process.

What will be next?

Some of you jerky blog followers are wondering what I will write about next.  Well, I’d like your feedback.  I am asking for ideas on a topic that you would like me to write about in the next couple of days.  Just shoot me some ideas and I will choose a couple of suggestions.

Thanks for your interest in our blog.

Validated Accountability

Before any product is allowed  to enter commerce from our jerky plant by Meat Safety Assurance inspectors,we have to sign a pre shipment review form declaring that all product is “ready to eat ‘ and safe for consumption.

There is much more to it than that, but it basically means that we are accountable for the product, good and bad.  We take pride in placing our reputation on the line with every bite you take.  More importantly we take pride in knowing that you are eating one heck of a safe product.  We own not only the  business but we own the philosophy, the mindset, and the INTENTION to be the best.  We will own it in good times and in bad times to the best of our ability.

In bad times the tendancy for business to blame others is a common response.  In the late 80’s  early 90′ before the regulatory systems of today there was a major outbreak of jerky related Salmonella and E. Coli poisonings.  Several people became very ill because no true standards were set in place to safeguard from “microscopic bugs”.  The manufacturer blamed the inspectors and the distributor for the beef , the inspectors blamed the standards, the distributor blamed the slaughter yards and  the slaughter yards blamed the inspectors and so on.  If the manufacturer would have taken the time to produce a safe product which means to understand  everything that there is to know about  making jerky, then none of this would have happened. And more importantly no one would have gotten sick. It’s called being accountable, but in these times victim-hood is ever so popular.

The need to blame and rationalize and basically lie to oneself is a much easier way to deal with adversity than to play the accountability hand.  But in the end,  with falsehoods you only hurt yourself and your overall intent.

“Validated accountability” is our model that is we have justification for everything that we do.  We measure everything from humidity to temperature.  We send product to the lab to get tested for various things. We do this because if there is ever a question about our product we can produce documentation that supports the process from beginning to end.  The entire process is validated.  We are by no means perfect but we do constantly strive for excellence.  TRUST BUT VERIFY…

Should Scripts

Irrational thoughts or faulty belief systems are the cause of ultimate “should scripts” that are not congruent to the reality of the world or the organization to which they are attached or associated. Irrational beliefs are, in a large sense, messages about life that we attach to ourselves that in many instances hinder or promote emotional growth.  Life scripts that we have sculpted in our perceptional brain come from the experiences that we have had throughout our life and in the end are the filters by which new information is processed.

It places a “should script” on how we intend to get through the experience and how we believe others should play their part in the overall script of our lives.  Because of these “should scripts” unfounded attitudes and opinions and values are typically not congruent to what the world really has to offer and in a sense is out of touch of the reality.

Because of the extent of a stressful event we tend to develop habitual responses to that event, which at many times deflects responsibility to face the stressful event and places a negative value to how an individual actually handles the event.  Often times, irrational beliefs are attached to ideas, feelings, beliefs, biases, prejudices or values in which we were raised culturally, religiously and spiritually.  And therefore are so embedded in our life script that we tend to use these in stressful situations although they may not be directly connected to the reality at hand.

In many instances these values that we often tap as resources can become self limiting and hinder growth because they are safe and within what is comfortable for the individual rather than challenging or promoting a different opinion, value or attitude.  Because of these, there are typically neutral or negative consequences to facing a life stressor with this habitual life script.

It is easy to see how self inhibiting these types of thought processes can be in the overall emotional intelligence of an individual.  Habitual ways of thinking and automatic thought processes that have been assigned a value of effective,  may be in fact, ineffectual.  And again, these types or ways of thinking may be counterproductive in that they may provide short term resolution to the actual experience but the long term effects do not resolve or maybe in some instances may exacerbate the problem or the stressor as a whole.

I should have done this or I should have thought that or I should have felt this or felt that becomes the circuitous pattern of thought and life view.  I can attest to the hell it is to live life with a I “should have” mentation.  One seldom forgives oneself for the lack of progress this produces.  Change the reaction and move from a should to a intent script.  You will love yourself for the transformation.

GRACIAS from The Lights Jerky Company

We had been hit with a computer virus that had slowed us down over the last 5 days but finally got it addressed.  In those 5 days we received thousands of emails and comments on our blog that will take me some time to get a response back to you. This may or may not happen so…

We just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our readers.  The blog originally sat out to market our great jerky products but since then has evolved into a  blog is intended to reach out to our patrons and in some instances  help,  if received in that way.   If we help just one person everyday with their day, then the blog is worth it.

People often say that our KARMA must be really good.   We have our ups and downs just like anyone else.  However, starting my day with the comments that you make gives me the will to continue to reach out with a big smile on my face.  THANK YOU for Reading, Commenting and hopefully passing the intent of our message to others.  e-karma feels pretty good.  AGAIN THANK YOU!!!  Oh by the way we do sell a great tasting jerky.  My wife says, “buy some today”…

Peace, Truth and Love to all.

Be Accessible

When we think of motivation we typically think of emotions that are inspiring or get us up an going.  We tie these concepts in to goal attainment and aspiration.  There is a distinctive “will” to succeed in what ever we set out to achieve.

However, as goals get bigger so does the aspiration –  not in the motivational sense but in the ability to take in what is at stake.   The aspiration moves from a desire to achieve to a feeling of labored breathing.  Fear becomes the motivating factor along these junctions.  At this point individuals have the tendency to talk themselves out of a goal because of fear.  Playing it safe replaces the original goal.

When people play it safe they deflect the goal and become inaccessible.  Accessibility to a goal is a primary condition for success.  People that “self defeat” place themselves in an inferior position and self image is compromised.  The position becomes a long term strategy for living and the internal voice negotiation becomes “if I am uncomfortable – avoid it…”

However if you become readily available to the conditions for success then success will follow.  That is if you are accessible and you come from the frame of thought that you “will try” then success will be accessible to you.

Even if you fail at least you gain the experience of the transaction which can be used the next time you make your self accessible.  Make yourself accessible and success will be readily available to you because prosperity deserves your attention.

The Religion of EGO

The idea of Religion encompasses ones relationship with God, whatever and however this may appear to be to you.  It is a relationship based on love in whatever form.

When religion is inoculated with ego then the message takes on a new meaning and propagation begins.  God is furthest from the center of this man made dynamic  and this is when people fail their relations with God and hate festers.   The need to exclaim the importance of their relationship with God and to be right becomes the “affirmed force” behind the faith,  rather than the true relationship that one  has with God and others.

By eliminating  the ego,  a truth of love with God begins and religion then becomes the furthest component from the center of this state of connectedness.  Religion is not at fault,  but, the individual ego and perception seem to be the culprit.   By attempting to see love in all people that you encounter, one can embrace their creator through a steady stream of love and respect.

In all situations seek truth and love,  thus peace will result, which is more in line with the creator. And if not, then the result is still peace,  truth and love.

In all situtions,  allow love to be your guide which is a version of God that always resonates peace and truth.  However, the trick is maintaining this relationship for yourself, and only you because Religion is about you and your relationship with God and not what others might think.
